Checked against eBay and Etsy help pages on
Neither eBay's nor Etsy's help pages offer a way to send listings to the other, and Etsy says you can't bulk upload new listings. So you have three choices: copy each listing across by hand, download Etsy's CSV of your listings to work from, or use cross-listing software that imports your listings and publishes them for you.
Yes. The same item can be listed on eBay and Etsy at once, as long as it meets Etsy's rules, and there are three ways to get it there.
1. By hand. Open the eBay listing, create a new Etsy listing and copy the title, description, photos and price across. It costs nothing but time. Etsy's help page says it doesn't have a way to bulk upload new listings, although you can copy an Etsy listing you have already made and edit it, which saves time.
2. With Etsy's CSV as a reference. Etsy lets you download your active listings as a CSV file. Etsy has no way to upload it back as new listings, but it is a handy checklist and a quick place to copy text from when you are moving Etsy stock to eBay.
3. With cross-listing software. A cross-lister connects to both shops, imports your listings, lets you fill in what the other site needs, and publishes. Some also take an item down on one site when it sells on the other. Artifactly works this way, and other tools that connect eBay and Etsy are in the table further down.
Antique and vintage stock is allowed if it is at least 20 years old. Etsy does not allow reselling, except for handpicked items such as vintage pieces over 20 years old.
Check this first. Etsy's vintage policy says an item must be at least 20 years old to count as vintage, and Etsy may ask how you sourced it, how you dated it, and for photos of the features that show its age. Its reselling page says reselling is not allowed apart from a few handpicked categories.
| Item type | Allowed on Etsy? | What Etsy will not accept as proof |
|---|---|---|
| Antique or vintage piece, at least 20 years old, that you handpicked | Yes, as vintage | It came from an estate sale or garage sale; it was handed down from a relative; another seller lists the same or a similar item |
| Modern item under 20 years old that you bought to sell on | No, this counts as reselling | No history makes it eligible; the age is the problem |
| A piece you believe is old but have not dated | Not until you can show it is at least 20 years old. Etsy may ask how you dated it, and for photos | The same three: an estate or garage sale, a relative owned it, another seller lists one |
So note how you dated each piece while you remember, such as a maker's mark or a label. "It came from a house clearance" will not do.
Re-create each listing on Etsy, adding the details Etsy asks for that eBay does not, or let software import your eBay listings and publish them to Etsy after you check each one.
Two honest limits. Item specifics come across only for eBay listings made through eBay's Inventory API, not ordinary Seller Hub listings. And Artifactly keeps one price for every marketplace, so you cannot charge more on Etsy to cover its fees.
Copy each Etsy listing into eBay's listing form, take out any mention of your Etsy shop or website, shorten the title to 80 characters and fill in the item specifics eBay asks for.
Artifactly shortens titles to each site's limit rather than rewriting them, so keep the key words at the start of long Etsy titles.
Mostly the title length, the number of photos, how the item is described for search, and how long the listing stays up.
| eBay UK | Etsy | |
|---|---|---|
| Title | Up to 80 characters (eBay) | Up to 140 characters (Etsy) |
| Photos and video | Up to 24 pictures (eBay) | Up to 20 photos and 2 videos |
| How the item is described for search | Item specifics, required in some categories (eBay) | Up to 13 tags |
| How long a listing lasts | Artifactly publishes fixed price, Good 'Til Cancelled | Expires after 4 months unless renewed (Etsy) |
| Links and mentions of other shops | Not allowed (links policy) | Not covered by the Etsy pages we checked |
| Variations | Not covered in this guide | Up to 3 attributes (Etsy) |
On a £100 order with postage included, a business seller pays £11.65 to eBay in the Antiques category and £11.18 to Etsy, plus Etsy's 0.20 USD listing fee. eBay private sellers pay no final value fee.
| Fee | eBay UK private seller | eBay UK business seller, Antiques | Etsy UK |
|---|---|---|---|
| Selling fee | No final value fee | 10.9% final value fee: £10.90 | 6.5% transaction fee on the order total including postage: £6.50 |
| Per order or payment fee | See eBay's private seller fee page | £0.40 per order (orders over £10) | Payment processing 4% + £0.20: £4.20 |
| Regulatory operating fee | See eBay's private seller fee page | 0.35%: £0.35 | 0.48%: £0.48 |
| Listing fee | 300 free listings a month, then 35p each | See eBay's business fee page | 0.20 USD per listing |
| Total on a £100 order | No final value fee | £11.65 | £11.18 plus the 0.20 USD listing fee |
Fees were read on 10 October 2026 from eBay's private seller fees, eBay's business seller fees, Etsy's fees page, Etsy's payment processing fees and Etsy's regulatory operating fee. eBay's business fee is set by category; Antiques is shown here. Some Etsy fees carry VAT. Fees change, so check the pages before you set prices.
Selling fees go to the site the item sells on. Being on both costs the listing fees and the time to keep two listings accurate.
The other listing has to come down before someone buys a piece you no longer have. By hand, that is your job; with Artifactly, sales are checked about every 5 minutes and the other listing is ended or removed for you.
For one-off antiques and vintage, list each piece with a quantity of 1 on both sites. Two rules matter here. eBay allows only one fixed-price listing of an identical item at a time, so if you have two identical items, list them once with a quantity of 2 rather than twice. And Etsy's auto-renew sold setting reposts a sold listing and charges a new listing fee, which is right for stock you can replace and wrong for a one-off.
Artifactly checks eBay and Etsy for sales about every 5 minutes. When the last one sells, it ends the eBay listing, removes the Etsy listing, archives the Shopify product and sets the WooCommerce product to draft. If you have more than one in stock, the count goes down on the other sites and the listings stay live.
That is not immediate. A few minutes is a short window, but it is a window, so keep an eye on both shops when a valuable piece is listed.
No. eBay listings cannot contain links to sites outside eBay, and you cannot mention or link to the same or related items for sale outside eBay.
Two eBay policies cover this: the links policy and the offers to buy or sell outside eBay policy. The easy mistake is an Etsy description copied across with "see more in my Etsy shop" or a web address in the last line, so read the end of every description before it goes onto eBay.
Each platform reports to HMRC on its own once your sales on that platform pass its threshold. Being reported does not change what you owe.
| Platform | Reports your details to HMRC when, in a calendar year | Source |
|---|---|---|
| eBay | £1,707 or more of sales, or 30 or more sales, on eBay | eBay UK digital sales reporting |
| Etsy | 30 or more transactions of physical goods, or about £1,700 of sales | Etsy reporting to tax authorities |
eBay's page says the reporting does not change your tax obligations. In other words, these figures are when a platform tells HMRC, not when you start owing tax. Keep your own records of what you bought and sold on each site, because HMRC may get a report from both.
For a few pieces, by hand is fine. Software earns its keep when you have more listings than you can comfortably re-type, or when you cannot watch both shops for sales.
| Your situation | Sensible route | Why |
|---|---|---|
| A handful of pieces, say up to 20 | By hand | An evening of copying, and you will learn what Etsy buyers search for along the way. |
| Dozens of pieces | Either, depending on your time | By hand still works, but taking sold items down on the other site becomes the risky part. |
| Hundreds of pieces, or new stock every week | Software | Importing, publishing and taking sold items down are the jobs that pile up. |
| Also selling on Shopify, WooCommerce or specialist antique sites | Software | Every extra shop is another place a sold piece has to come down. |
If you start by hand, keep a list of each item's SKU and where it is listed. When that list gets hard to keep up, it is time for software.
Several tools connect the two. The main differences for a UK seller are the currency you pay in, whether eBay UK and Etsy are both supported, and whether sold items are taken down for you.
| Tool | Price shown | eBay and Etsy | Sold items | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Artifactly | £19.99, £39.99 or £74.99 a month (GBP); 14-day free trial, no card | Direct connection to both; eBay UK by default (one eBay site per account); also Shopify and WooCommerce | Checks eBay and Etsy about every 5 minutes, then ends or removes the other listings | Imports from eBay, Etsy, Shopify and WooCommerce; Ready-to-List for UK antique marketplaces such as Vinterior, LAPADA and Decorative Collective |
| Crosslist | $29.99 for 200 listings, as shown on its own comparison page (USD) | Has a page for each platform pair | Check their site | Prices in US dollars |
| Nembol | Check their site | Connects Etsy and eBay | Check their site | Check their site |
| 3Dsellers | Check their site | Connects Etsy and eBay | Check their site | Check their site |
| LitCommerce | Check their site | Connects Etsy and eBay | Check their site | Check their site |
| Vendoo | UK pricing page starts at £16.99 a month for 125 new items | UK FAQ lists eBay and Etsy, with Depop, Whatnot and Facebook Marketplace | UK pricing page lists sale detection for eBay, Depop and Whatnot (Beta) | No antique-specialist marketplaces listed |
| List Perfectly | From $29 a month (USD) | Lists eBay and Etsy among 14 marketplaces | Auto-delist on the Pro Plus plan only, from $99 a month | Its FAQ says it supports US marketplaces only |
For a fuller side-by-side, compare cross-listing tools. If you are weighing up Vendoo in particular, our page on Vendoo alternatives covers its UK plans. If your stock is mostly antiques, see what we built as antique dealer software, including the specialist UK marketplaces.
Not that we could find. None of the eBay help pages we read on 10 October 2026 describe an Etsy import, and Etsy says you can't bulk upload new listings, so the move happens either by hand or through software that reads one shop and publishes to the other.
With Artifactly, yes. An eBay import brings every photo at large size and an Etsy import brings full-size photos. Etsy takes up to 20 photos and eBay up to 24, but Artifactly sends up to 10 photos when it publishes to Etsy, so put your strongest pictures first.
Treat them as ones to check by hand. Etsy lets a listing have variations on up to 3 attributes. Single pieces with no variations move cleanly. Check anything with variations on both sites after you move it, and again when it sells.
Usually not, because Etsy uses up to 13 tags rather than item specifics. Artifactly's eBay import brings item specifics only for listings made through eBay's Inventory API, not ordinary Seller Hub listings. Going the other way, Artifactly tells you which required eBay item specifics are missing before you publish.
Yes. Artifactly connects directly to eBay, Etsy, Shopify and WooCommerce, and can import from all four. When the last one of an item sells, the eBay listing is ended, the Etsy listing is removed, the Shopify product is archived and the WooCommerce product is set to draft.
Artifactly checks eBay and Etsy for sales about every 5 minutes. It is regular checking, not an alert from the marketplace, so there is a short window in which the same piece could sell on the other site. For a valuable one-off piece, keep an eye on both shops.
