Furniture delivery: weight estimate and Shiply or AnyVan text
5:02 · Watch on YouTube
Shipments estimates how heavy a piece is from its sizes and material, works out a guide delivery price from the weight, and writes the job text for Shiply and AnyVan.
The guide price is not a courier quote: confirm the real price with the courier. The Bookings tab shows courier collections from your Google Calendar.
About this video: The screens are the real Artifactly app, recorded on a demo shop with made-up stock. The voice is computer-generated.
Questions this video answers
How do I estimate the weight of a piece of furniture for a courier?
AI Estimate Weight works out how heavy the piece is likely to be, from its sizes, its material and what kind of piece it is. Here is the estimate: the weight of the piece, the weight with packaging, the volumetric weight, which is the size based weight some couriers charge by, and a shipping tier. It needs the sizes, so the button stays grey for a piece without them.
What should I write on Shiply or AnyVan?
Each one has a listing title and a full description, made from the piece, its sizes and weight, both postcodes, the floors, and your packing and requirements lines. It writes the job text for those two courier sites, so you do not have to type it out each time. Press Copy beside the title or the description, and it is copied, ready to paste on the courier site.
Is the Artifactly delivery price a real quote?
It is not a Proovia quote. This is a guide price only, from the weight alone. Confirm the real price with the courier before you quote a buyer.

0:00Shipments overview
This video shows Shipments. Here you choose a piece, see how heavy it is likely to be, get a guide price for a Proovia delivery, and write the job text for the courier sites Shiply and AnyVan. Show Guide opens the help for this page, right here, so you can read it while you work. Along the top are three tabs: Proovia, Shiply and AnyVan, and Bookings. We will look at each one in turn.
0:32Choose a piece
First, choose the piece you are sending. Press Choose from Inventory. A list of your pieces opens, with a search box for the title or the SKU. Click the piece. Its photo, title and sizes appear, with its weight if you have saved one. The cross on the right clears it, to choose another.
0:54AI weight estimate
AI Estimate Weight works out how heavy the piece is likely to be, from its sizes, its material and what kind of piece it is. It needs the sizes, so the button stays grey for a piece without them. Let us press it. Here is the estimate: the weight of the piece, the weight with packaging, the volumetric weight, which is the size based weight some couriers charge by, and a shipping tier. The reasoning sits above, with how sure it is. The estimate is used on this screen only, for the guide price and the courier text. It is not saved to the piece.
1:35Proovia guide price
Now the Proovia tab. Its heading is Proovia Guide Price, and the line under it says why. Proovia is not connected to Artifactly, so this works out a guide price from the piece's weight only: forty five pounds, plus fifty pence a kilo. The postcodes, floors and size do not change it. The pickup postcode starts from the address in your Business Profile, on the Command Room. Here it is the demo shop, AB1 2CD. Below it is the floor the piece is collected from. Then type the customer's postcode, and choose their floor. For a guide price, they do not change the figure. Press Get Guide Price. It needs a weight: the one saved on the piece, or the estimate we just made. Please read this part carefully. This is a guide price only, from the weight alone. It is not a Proovia quote. The amber box shows the sum it did: forty five pounds, plus fifty pence a kilo for the weight. Confirm the real price with the courier before you quote a buyer. Booking not available yet is greyed out on purpose. You cannot book Proovia from Artifactly yet.
3:00Shiply and AnyVan job text
Next, the Shiply and AnyVan tab. It writes the job text for those two courier sites, so you do not have to type it out each time. Pickup Postcode starts from your Business Profile here too. You can change it for this one job. How is it packed? is in your own words. Press one of the quick choices to fill it in, change it if you like, or leave it empty to leave that line out of the job. Requirements for the courier starts as two person team recommended. Change it, or clear it to leave it out. Customer Postcode is the same one you typed on the Proovia tab. Below are two cards, Shiply and AnyVan. Each one has a listing title and a full description, made from the piece, its sizes and weight, both postcodes, the floors, and your packing and requirements lines. Press Copy beside the title or the description, and it is copied, ready to paste on the courier site. Open Site, at the top of each card, opens that courier site in a new tab.
4:10Bookings from your calendar
Last, the Bookings tab. It shows courier collections from your Google Calendar for the next thirty days. Today counts the ones due today, and any that are late. Upcoming and Total count the rest. A booking shows here when its calendar entry names the courier: Proovia, AnyVan or Shiply. All, Today and Upcoming filter the list. The demo shop has Google connected but no bookings, so it says No bookings found. Without Google, it asks you to connect your Google account in Marketplace Integrations, as the line at the top says. That is Shipments. The next video is Communications: your email, your contacts, customer wishlists and your calendar.
