0:00White Background

This video covers two picture tools in the AI Curation Lab. White Background puts a piece on a clean white background, and Virtual Staging places a piece in a room. Both come with the Dealer and Showroom plans. Press White Background along the top of the lab. The Show Guide button under it opens the help for this tool. On the left, choose where the photo comes from. Inventory lists your pieces. Photo link takes the web address of a photo. And From computer lets you drop in a photo, or pick one from your computer. In Inventory, search by title or SKU. The round arrow button beside the search reloads the list. Press a piece to choose it. Here, the G Plan Fresco teak sideboard. Its first photo appears in the middle, as the original photo.

1:00Remove Background

The line under the White Background heading sums up how it works: cut out on your device, AI outline as the back-up. Before pressing anything, About the result, underneath, explains what you get: a PNG picture at the size of your photo, up to 4096 pixels, on pure white, or transparent if you prefer. The cut-out runs on your own device first, and your photo is not sent anywhere for that. If it cannot run there, a smaller copy goes through our server to Gemini, the AI from Google, which outlines the piece. If that cannot be reached either, a simple mode runs in your browser, which works best on plain backgrounds. The result says which way was used, whenever it was not the first. Now press Remove Background. A cut-out model finds the piece and takes the background away, right here in your browser. The first time, it downloads the model, so it takes a little longer. The percentage counts up while it works. And here is the result, on the right, beside the original. The room behind has gone, and the sideboard sits on white. Anything left that you do not want can be taken away with Touch Up.

2:47Touch Up the edges

Save to Product puts this white version in place of the first photo of the piece. We will not press it in this video, so nothing is changed. Touch Up lets you fix the edges yourself. It opens the cut-out on its own. Keep paints parts of the photo back in. Erase takes more away. Size sets how big the brush is, and Undo takes back your last stroke. The two ticks show the removed areas faintly, or preview the piece on white. Apply puts your changes on the picture. Cancel closes it with nothing changed, so we press Cancel.

3:28Virtual Staging: the room

Download White PNG saves the picture on pure white, ready for the marketplaces. Transparent PNG saves it with no background at all, for staging or your own designs. Redo clears the result so you can start again. Next, Virtual Staging. It puts one of your pieces into a room, so a buyer can picture it at home. On the left is the room. With Upload Photo, paste the web address of a room photo and press Load, or drop in a photo, perhaps of a customer's own room. AI Generate makes the room for you instead.

4:06Choose the piece

With AI Generate, you describe the room with the settings on the right, and the AI creates a room with your piece in it. On the right, choose the piece. Inventory lists your pieces that have photos, and Image URL takes the web address of any photo. Here we press the Peppler nine-drawer chest.

4:26Era, room, lighting and prompt

When a piece has more than one photo, pick the one to use under Choose image for staging. Tick Auto-remove background and the piece is cut out on your device before staging, the same way as White Background. If that cannot run here, the AI outlines it instead. We leave it off here. Room Era sets the period of the room, from William and Mary, through Georgian and Victorian, to mid-century and the styles of today. It is optional. With AI Generate, the first choice is No particular period. Leave it there, and Room Type empty too, and the AI chooses a period and style that suit the piece. With your own room photo, the first choice is Auto, which keeps the room as it is. We choose Mid-Century Modern. Room Type sets the kind of room, such as a living room, a hallway or a snug. We choose Living Room. Lighting Mood sets the light, from natural daylight to golden hour, candlelit or studio. A short line under it says what the one you pick looks like. We choose Natural. Custom Prompt is for your own words, up to five hundred characters. Here we ask for a bright room with a large window.

Dimensions, in centimetres, are filled in from the piece when it has them. They are optional, and they help the AI get the size right in the room. Now press Generate Staged Image. The AI builds the room and places the chest in it. While it works, the button says AI Compositing. It can take up to a minute. Each staged image counts towards your plan: thirty a month on Dealer, and sixty on Showroom. Here is the staged result: the chest in a new mid-century living room. Regenerate makes a fresh version with the same settings. When you stage into your own room photo, a Show Room Original button sits beside it, to flip back to the room as it was. Download Image saves the picture to your computer. Save to Product Gallery adds it to the photos of the piece: you choose a new slot, or a photo to replace. We will not press it here. That is White Background and Virtual Staging. The next video covers Trend Intelligence and the Content Engine, which makes picture posts for social media.
