0:00Trend Intelligence

This video covers two more tools in the AI Curation Lab: Trend Intelligence, and the Content Engine, which makes picture posts for social media. Trend Intelligence shows what the specialist antiques and collectibles press is writing about, with every headline linked. It comes with the Dealer plan, twelve research runs a month, and Showroom, eighteen.

0:24Run a trend search

Choose UK, US or Europe. The publications are mostly from the UK and the US; the region picks which eBay site the prices come from when you type words. In the box, type a maker, a period or a kind of piece, or leave it empty for everything. Here we type mid-century. Then press Research trends. It reads the latest headlines from the specialist publications, and takes under a minute. While it reads, a line counts the seconds. Nothing here is an estimate. The AI groups the headlines into trends, and any trend it cannot tie to a real headline is left out.

1:07Reading the report

At the top is a summary: how many headlines it found from the last four months, when it read them, and from how many publications. Under Trends in the specialist press, each trend has a short summary and the headlines it comes from, each one dated and linked to the article. When the headlines do not point the same way, it says so. Because we typed a word, eBay prices for it are shown too. The line above them says whether they are sold prices or only asking prices. All headlines, newest first, lists every headline it read. Show all opens the full list. At the top, Print or PDF opens the report in a new window, ready to print or save.

1:53Content Engine

Now the Content Engine. It turns one of your pieces into a set of picture slides with captions. It comes with the Showroom plan, sixty posts a month. Please note, Artifactly does not post for you. You download the slides and copy the captions, then post them yourself on each site. Across the top are the six steps: Product, Template, Sequence, Edit Slides, Captions, and Download and Captions. Back and Next at the bottom move between them too.

2:27Choose a piece and template

First, choose a piece. Search by title, SKU or era, or press one from the list. We choose the Peppler nine-drawer chest. At the top right, Mode switches between six slides, quick, and nine slides, feature. A piece of fifteen hundred pounds or more, with a designer and eight photos, starts on nine. Save, beside it, keeps this carousel so you can come back to it later. We will not press it in this video. Choose Template shows twelve templates, each in the style of a period: Georgian, Regency, Victorian, Arts and Crafts, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Mid-century, Retro, Industrial, Farmhouse and Primitive, Curator and Minimal. The template that matches the era of the piece is picked for you, here Mid-century. Historical Context, underneath, says where the style comes from. Then press Continue.

3:29Order the slides

Sequence Slides lists the slides in order: Hero, In Context, Detail, Maker's Mark, Honest Condition, and the price. Drag a slide to move it. Click a small photo to put it on that slide. The Maker's Mark slide waits for you to pick the photo that shows the mark, and a slide with no photo is left out of the download. Reshuffle deals the photos out again. Edit Slides shows each slide as it will look. Press one in the strip along the top to see it large.

4:04Captions for each slide

Press Generate Captions to go on. The AI writes the words for each slide from your product record only, in the voice of the template. The first time, it starts by itself. Each slide has an Eyebrow, a Body and sometimes a Footnote, and you can change any of them. The preview on the right shows the slide as you type, and says if the words are too long to fit. If the record does not say enough for a slide, an amber note says what to add. Generate All Captions writes them all again, for example after you add to the record.

4:40Download and post

Press Continue for the last step, Download and Captions. Download slides saves each slide as a picture, 1080 by 1350 pixels, ready to upload to any site. Underneath, the AI writes a caption for X, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. Each has a tip, a Copy button, and a count against that site's own limit. Instagram also counts hashtags: it allows five. Copy each caption, download the slides, and post them yourself. Regenerate writes the captions again. When the writer finds something missing from the record, Notes from the writer, at the bottom, says what to add. That is Trend Intelligence and the Content Engine. The next video covers Billing and Account: your plan, your team and support access.
