Questions this video answers

What should I put in my Artifactly Business Profile?

Artifactly uses these details on your listings, invoices and sale emails. Your name, email, phone and address must be filled in before you can upload a piece. Contact Email is where Artifactly sends your sale emails, so use an address you check.

How do I answer Etsy's "who made it" for vintage stock?

Etsy asks this for every new listing, so you set it once here: I did, A member of my shop, or Another company or person, which is the one for vintage and antique dealers. Artifactly works out when each item was made by itself, from its era, its title or its description.

Where do I add my VAT number to invoices?

Choose VAT Registered and a VAT Number box appears; your invoices then show your VAT number. VAT Status is Not VAT Registered, or VAT Registered.

0:00Staff Notes

This video covers two parts of the Command Room: Staff Notes, and your Business Profile, field by field. Staff Notes is a shared memo. Everyone on your account sees these notes. Type in the box, then press Save to share your changes.

0:19Business Profile basics

Next is your Business Profile. Artifactly uses these details on your listings, invoices and sale emails. Your name, email, phone and address must be filled in before you can upload a piece. When you change anything here, press Save Profile, at the top. We will not press it in this video. Business Name is your trading name. Your Shopify listings use it as the vendor, unless you type another on the item. Contact Email is where Artifactly sends your sale emails, so use an address you check. Then your Phone.

0:58Website and online shop address

Website is your own shop on the web. The share buttons on each item use it. A piece that is live on your Shopify shop links to its own page on your website, and anything else links to your website. Online Shop Address is the web address of your online shop. When there is no website, the share buttons use this instead, and Artifactly uses it to build links to your Shopify product pages.

1:25Address and SKU prefix

Then your address: two address lines, City, County or Region, Postcode and Country. Your address goes on your invoices. SKU Prefix is the start of the code Artifactly gives a new item that has no SKU. Use two to six letters or numbers, or leave it empty to use the start of your business name. Existing SKUs never change.

1:52VAT, company and bank details

On the right is Financial and Banking. VAT Status is Not VAT Registered, or VAT Registered. Choose VAT Registered and a VAT Number box appears; your invoices then show your VAT number. Company Reg Number is your Companies House number. Then your bank: Bank Name, Account Name, Sort Code and Account Number, with IBAN and BIC or Swift if you want them. Your invoices show these, so a buyer can pay you by bank transfer. The green box, How This Is Used, sums up where these details go.

2:29Etsy: who made it and free delivery

Below it is Etsy: who makes the items you sell? Etsy asks this for every new listing, so you set it once here: I did, A member of my shop, or Another company or person, which is the one for vintage and antique dealers. Artifactly works out when each item was made by itself, from its era, its title or its description. An item that is not vintage, handmade or a craft supply is not sent to Etsy, and the item says why. As the green line says, these two Etsy settings save straight away when you change them, so you do not need to press Save Profile for them. Tick I offer free delivery on Etsy only if you do. Left off, Artifactly never puts an item on an Etsy delivery profile that costs nothing, so Etsy never shows Free delivery when the buyer should pay. The tick also saves at once.

3:28Description footer per marketplace

Description Footer is your own text for the end of a description, such as your delivery terms or returns. It is added exactly as you write it. The AI Curation Lab adds it when you tick Include business footer. Once a marketplace is connected, ticks appear under the box: Add the footer on, with eBay, Etsy, Shopify and Website shop, for the ones you have connected. The demo shop has nothing connected, so they are not showing here. A ticked marketplace gets the footer when an item is sent there. An unticked one has it taken off, even from older descriptions. Save Footer saves the text and the ticks. That is your Business Profile. The next video covers Postage, Places and Recently deleted.
