Send a piece to your marketplaces and check it went

6:38 · Watch on YouTube

Saving a piece does not put it on sale. This video sends one piece out: find it in Inventory Control, press the marketplace icons you want so they turn amber, and press SYNC.

For copy-and-paste marketplaces such as Pamono and Vinterior, SYNC opens the Ready-to-List assistant, shown here in full. Then what SYNC tells you for eBay, Etsy, Shopify and WooCommerce, and how to check on the card that it went.

What you need: Works on every plan. Copy-and-paste marketplaces, Shopify and WooCommerce need the Dealer or Showroom plan.

About this video: The screens are the real Artifactly app, recorded on a demo shop with made-up stock. The demo shop has no marketplace connected, so what SYNC says for eBay, Etsy, Shopify and WooCommerce is shown on a walkthrough note. The voice is computer-generated.

Questions this video answers

How do I send a piece to eBay, Etsy and my other marketplaces from Artifactly?

Press the icon of each marketplace you want. Now press SYNC, at the bottom left of the card. Once you have connected them in Marketplace Integrations, SYNC sends the piece to them for you.

What does the SYNC button do, and what do the icon colours mean?

It sends to the amber marketplaces only. Amber is ready to sync. Green means live on a connected marketplace, or marked as listed by you on a copy-and-paste one.

How do I check a listing went live, and what do I do if a marketplace refuses it?

Each marketplace that took it turns green. If one refused it, its icon turns red, and the marketplace's name and reason show in red under the icons. Then press the red icon so it turns amber again, and press SYNC.

0:00Saving is not sending: find the piece

This video sends a piece to your marketplaces, and shows you how to check it went. Saving a piece does not put it on sale. It goes out when you press SYNC on its card, here in Inventory Control. First, find the piece. Type its title or its SKU in the search box. Ours is the G-Plan Fresco teak sideboard, SKU DEMO-014.

0:24What the icon colours mean

Channel Status explains the colours on the marketplace icons. Grey is unlisted. Amber is ready to sync. Purple, In an export file, means the piece went into a file made on the Marketplaces page in this browser. That is not the same as listed. Green means live on a connected marketplace, or marked as listed by you on a copy-and-paste one. On the card, Market Channels has a small icon for every marketplace, twenty six in all. Rest the pointer on one to see its name and what its colour means.

0:59Connected or copy and paste

There are two kinds. The first four, Shopify, eBay, Etsy and WooCommerce, are connected marketplaces. Once you have connected them in Marketplace Integrations, SYNC sends the piece to them for you. The others, such as Vinterior and Pamono, are copy and paste. For those, SYNC opens the Ready-to-List assistant, which helps you list the piece there yourself.

1:23Choose your marketplaces

Press the icon of each marketplace you want. It turns amber, ready to sync. We press Vinterior and Pamono. Your choice is saved straight away, but nothing is sent yet. Pressed one by mistake? Press it again and it goes back to grey. Here, Ruby Lane: once for amber, and once more for grey.

1:44Press SYNC

Now press SYNC, at the bottom left of the card. On a piece that is not on sale yet, it says Send. It sends to the amber marketplaces only. If none is amber, it tells you to press an icon first.

2:01Ready-to-List assistant: Vinterior

We chose only copy-and-paste marketplaces, so SYNC sends nothing anywhere. It opens the Ready-to-List assistant. At the top are the piece's photo, title, SKU and price, and a tab for each marketplace you chose. It opens on Vinterior. Vinterior's team builds the listing from a public link to the piece. Ours is not live on any website yet, so it says so: publish it to Shopify, WooCommerce, Etsy or eBay first, then come back for the link. Open Vinterior import takes you to Vinterior's page for pasting the link. Now the Pamono tab.

2:38Ready-to-List assistant: Pamono

Open Pamono opens Pamono's website in a new tab, so you can start the listing there. Copy All copies the whole listing, laid out for Pamono, ready to paste. It turns green to say it is copied. The counter beside it shows how many fields you have copied. If Pamono needs something the piece does not have, a box called Missing Required Fields names it here. Our sideboard has no condition chosen yet, and Pamono asks for one, so the box names Condition. Choose it on the piece with Edit, then come back. Under the box is a short note on what Pamono looks for. Quick Paste shows that same listing text. Press its name to open it and read it through before you paste. Its own Copy button copies it too. Below are the details in sections: Core Details, Condition, Description and more. Each field has its own Copy button, which turns green once you have copied it. Press a section's name to fold it away. Where Pamono uses its own word for the condition, the assistant shows that word under yours, and the Copy button copies Pamono's word. Our sideboard has no condition yet, so here it says Not chosen. Images shows every photo. Copy All URLs copies all the photo links at once, and pressing a photo copies just its link.

4:00Mark as Listed

When the piece is live on Pamono, come back and press Mark as Listed on Pamono. The Pamono icon on the card then turns green. We do not press it here, because the sideboard is not on Pamono. Now press Close. Because we copied the Pamono listing, it first asks: Did you list it on Pamono? Mark as listed turns that icon green. It is not on Pamono yet, so we press Not yet, close. The icons you chose stay amber until you mark them as listed, so you can come back to it with SYNC at any time.

4:34What SYNC says for eBay, Etsy, Shopify and WooCommerce

Now the connected marketplaces. The demo shop has none connected, so this note shows what you see. When you press SYNC with eBay, Etsy, Shopify or WooCommerce amber, a message first names the marketplaces it is sending to. When it finishes, a second message says SYNC COMPLETE, and lists each marketplace that took the piece, such as eBay Published. A new Etsy listing takes about a minute, so the message says Publishing in background, and the Etsy icon stays amber. A little later, Artifactly reloads your list, and the icon turns green once Etsy has it. If a marketplace refuses the piece, the message says SYNC FAILED, and gives the reason, marketplace by marketplace, so you know what to fix. If you chose eBay or Etsy before connecting it, nothing can go there, and the message tells you to connect it in Marketplace Integrations, then press SYNC again.

5:30Check it went

To check it went, look at the piece's card. Each marketplace that took it turns green. Under the icons, its name appears as a link to the live listing, which opens in a new tab. If one refused it, its icon turns red, and the marketplace's name and reason show in red under the icons. Fix what it says with Edit. Then press the red icon so it turns amber again, and press SYNC. A copy-and-paste marketplace turns green only when you mark it as listed: in the assistant, or when it asks as you close it. For many pieces at once, press Select in Inventory Control, tick them, and use Mark as listed on. Its name then shows under the icons too, without a link. For your whole shop, look at the Command Room. Needs your attention appears there, under Sold, needs sending, whenever something needs you. The demo shop has nothing wrong, so it is not showing. Video two explains each kind of problem it shows. That is how to send a piece, and check it went. The next video shows how to change a piece that is already for sale.
